Can You Bring Luggage to Kia Center? What Orlando Travelers Should Know Before an MCO Flight

If you’re checking out of your Orlando hotel in the morning, catching a game or concert at Kia Center, and flying out of Orlando International Airport (MCO) later that night, you may be wondering: Can you bring luggage into Kia Center?

For most travelers, the answer is no.

Kia Center, located at 400 West Church Street in downtown Orlando, has a strict no-bag policy for events. Guests are generally limited to one small clutch measuring no more than 4.5 by 6.5 by 1 inch. Medical and parent bags are exceptions, although they are subject to security screening and size restrictions.

That means backpacks, carry-on bags, duffel bags and full-size suitcases should not be taken to the arena.

Does Kia Center Have Luggage Storage?

Kia Center currently uses Binbox smart lockers outside the arena for guests who arrive with belongings that do not meet the venue’s bag rules. These lockers can be useful for smaller prohibited items such as backpacks, laptops or cameras.

However, travelers carrying several pieces of luggage may want to plan ahead rather than arriving at the arena expecting to store an entire trip’s worth of bags. Locker availability and sizes may vary, particularly during busy Orlando Magic games, concerts and other major events.

If you’re heading directly from hotel checkout to Kia Center and then to MCO, another option is to send your luggage ahead.

Going From Your Hotel to Kia Center to MCO

This is a common Orlando travel-day problem. Hotel and Airbnb checkout may be late morning, while your flight from MCO might not leave until the evening.

Going to the airport immediately can mean sacrificing several hours of your final day. Bringing suitcases to Kia Center isn’t practical because of the venue’s bag restrictions. Leaving your bags at the hotel can also mean making an unnecessary return trip after the event.

Bagzee offers luggage pickup and airport delivery in Orlando.

Bagzee can pick up luggage from your Orlando hotel, Airbnb, apartment or other address and deliver it ahead to secure luggage storage at MCO. You can then head to downtown Orlando and attend your event at Kia Center without dragging your suitcases with you.

When it’s time to fly, continue to MCO, retrieve your luggage and check it with your airline as usual.

A More Convenient Orlando Departure Day

For example, imagine checking out of your downtown Orlando hotel at 11 a.m., having lunch near Church Street and attending an afternoon event at Kia Center before a late flight.

Instead of planning the entire day around where to leave your suitcase, you can arrange for your luggage to travel separately to the airport.

If you’re visiting Kia Center before an MCO flight, check the venue’s latest bag rules before your event and make a luggage plan in advance.

With Bagzee, you can send your bags ahead to MCO and enjoy the rest of Orlando hands-free.
